The Authentic YES
I’m still connected to the Athens Marathon tribe and received notice that 2025 registration opens today. It reminded me of that moment I decided to go for it and run the 2024 race last November.
The last photo of this collection is so true, and on this Chooseday, I’m posting this here, as a reminder to me. (And you, if you need it.😁)
Our mind is so powerful and it can be used for misery or magic. I created magic for myself by saying yes to this challenge, despite not knowing the terrain, weather, organization, foreign fueling/water sources, or if anyone would speak english if I got lost.
It makes me want to say yes to the other challenges that pop up. It’s the Mile 21 moments that give us the finish line moments, and I’m here for more finish line moments.
The event was one day, but the community I’m a part of lives on. I stay in touch with some folks we met at the race, as part of the training, and I even got to share my books with some runners. None of this could have happened without me saying yes to the race challenge. That’s the power of a moment. THAT is the power of a decision.
